If you have at least two years’ service is entitled to a statutory redundancy payment and this in addition to any contractual redundancy payment as well as other benefits that your employer may offer. The amount of the statutory redundancy payment is increased each year. As of 2014, the increase occurs in April each year.
There may be a contractual right to enhanced redundancy pay set out in your employment contract or in a collective agreement or redundancy policy that has been incorporated into your contract. Your documents would need to be reviewed and checked.
If you are dismissed without being given full notice in accordance with your contract you will also be entitled to payment in lieu of notice.
